This Thursday, September 20th, Lionel Menchaca, Caroline Dietz, and John Pope of Dell will speak about their efforts to create a community using social media. Direct2Dell, IdeaStorm and StudioDell represent the new trend in communications in the business world and this meeting is sure to be extremely informative.

Lionel Menchaca is the Digital Media Manager for Direct2Dell, the official blog for Dell. In his online bio, Lionel describes Direct2Dell as a community that is driven by direct communication. The purpose of the Direct2Dell is to provide insights into Dell and its employees who drive the company forward. Direct2Dell is an excellent example of how a very large company is able to have a direct, two-way communication with its community of customers. It welcomes all comments and allows for an authentic and transparent dialog, the very hallmarks of the new age of conversation. Lionel is a regular at Social Media Club of Austin meetings and is certainly a key player in the new age of conversation.
