We’re running a little late, well I am, on getting things going here at the Austin Social Media Club this year. Hey, business is good, we’ve been busy. So we’re aiming for February to kick off our evening events on the third Thursday. Jon Lebkowsky, one of the genuine experts on the evolution of social media, will be presenting at that first meeting. Look for more information and reminders in the coming weeks.

We will also initiate the Social Media Breakfast in February featuring Bryan Person, creator of the social media breakfast.

SXSW is right around the corner. Be sure to register, if you haven’t already, and we’ll let you know about activities we’re involved with as we get closer to March. As you know, Twitter took off as a major new form of communication in social media during last year’s Interactive . A tweetup is being organized for this year’s event. People from all over the world will be there twittering, tweeting, or whatever you want to call it, and just having fun as a community.

There isn’t a formal event planned for January, we’re not a very formal group, but if anyone would like to get together for a meetup, we’re always open to that. Please comment here and see if we can get a conversation going about it.
