Happy Birthday! Earlier this morning we had 27 registrations -- just 13 more and we fill all our slots. I can't donate anymore but I have a couple of friends who have reached the 10-gallon mark as donors. C'mon, Austin tweeps and tech geeks. Let's save some lives!

One of my favorite parts of this Blooddrive is that it's the idea of one of our newest members! @michellegreer. What we need with Austin Social Media Club is fresh ideas from new people and this is a doozy. In fact why not come check out the next Austin Social Media Club meeting? Or join our group on Facebook or LinkedIN. Help us make our organization better!

Mike, you really are amazing. I hope Austin can give you the best birthday present ever.

BTW, there are over 90 spots available. That means we can save 90 people. How incredible is that? Let's rock and roll this, folks! https://www.lonestardonor.com/

Happiest of birthdays! I am one of those very fortunate people that has received the gift of life. Each time I had a blood transfusion, it used to make me cry. Mostly because I knew (and prayed) that it would give me another day of life and also that someone took time out of their day to donate blood.

You all rock it so hard you need your own backup band!

Thanks. I'd come hold hands with the blood donors for support, but right now my love and thanks have to come all the way from Seattle!

[...] This is completely motivated by Michelle Greer’s poking and prodding (pun intended) over her idea of organizing a blood drive via Twitter, the social messaging network. Read her blog post about the entire thing and get over your fear of needles like I did. Just get over it. I’m most likely going to pass out, but it doesn’t matter. Michelle will be there to hold my hand. Or David Neff. Or Mike Chapman. [...]

Thank you everyone for the great Failwhale cake...see http://everydotconnects to read what @sheilas wrote. This was a tremendous success. A special shout out to Michelle Greer and David Neff.
