Chris Almond of IBM to Speak

Our special presentation for this month’s regular meeting will be given by Chris Almond, Redbooks Project Leader and IT Architect/Knowledge Activist at IBM. Chris has authored several books including, The new IBM Redbook, Linux Client Migration Cookbook: A Practical Planning and Implementation Guide for Migrating to Desktop Linux, and Solaris to Linux Migration: A Guide for System Administrators.

Chris will be giving us an insider’s view of how social media is infiltrating one of the largest technology companies in the world. Chris is an active member of the Social Media Club, a great speaker, and should provide some excellent insight on the practical applications of social media in a large organization.

The meeting is scheduled for August 21st, at 6 pm, at the IBM Briefing Center 11501 Burnet Road, Building 904, Austin, TX 78758. Please note that the meeting facility is inside the main entrance in the first floor of the front middle building in the complex on the East side of Burnet Rd, facing West.
